How often should I wash my hair?
It depends on your hair type and styling objectives. Hair with tighter curl patterns like 4a – 4c benefit from the natural oils that build up in hair over time. Hair with more loose curl patterns like 2a – 3c can often be weighed down by natural oil build up and need to be washed and rinsed more frequently to prevent heavy hair and flattened curl patterns. We recommend washing hair once per week or every other week with deep conditioning (heat and cap coverage) at least once per month. Even though you may wet your hair frequently for wash and go-styles, a full shampoo to remove product build-up is best conducted once every other week. Washing hair too frequently may cause drying which can result in breakage.
